Into the Grey

A poem inspired by “The Grey”
By: Tyson Parker

In cold sleep
and colder dreams
So cold it cracks
The window panes,
In poison speech
These silver things
They eat your bones-
Eat everything.

And at their backs
A frozen faith,
To bite the thought,
They hide, they wait.
Impending doom
Behind their name.
They hide their souls
Into the grey.

Now is the end:
To fight no more.
Billfolds they give,
Old spirits worn.
Fade into sleep,
and rest ‘till morn.
Then meet the fangs,
Where tears are born.
